ANNA MASTERS
Mixed Media and Installation Artist
Anna Masters (b. 1982) is a mixed media and installation artist, whose practice examines the transformational qualities of time and context on value and symbolism. Her broad practice incorporates suspended sculpture, wall-based works and site- and time-specific installations. Masters' works are recognisable for the unique methodology she employs to 'suspend' elements on clear nylon to give the impression that they are floating within a space or frame. She uses found and organic materials, including clock parts, butterflies, bank notes and petals to create delicate three-dimensional art works that speak of the passage of time and our relationship to it.
Masters graduated from Staffordshire University in 2004 with a First Class Honours Degree in Fine Art, and also holds a Masters degree in Arts Policy and Management from Birkbeck, University of London. Her works are held in public and private collections internationally.
